Five generations, ranging from 2 weeks old to 85 years old, posed for a photograph commemorating the birth of the latest addition to their native Nevada family.
Five previous generations posed together on the same couch for a photo published in The R-C nearly 24 years earlier.
Beginning the sixth generation of native Nevadans is Bailey Jade Moody, born May 5, 2010. Her parents are Amanda and Darrik Moody from the Gardnerville Ranchos.
The new grandmother is Deb (Park) Epps, great-grandmother is Georgia Nicholson, and great-great-grandmother is Ruth Gibson.
They were all born in Carson City, except great-great-grandmother Ruth who was born in Yerington and grew up in Gardnerville.
All went to Douglas County High School, later named Douglas High School. New mother Amanda is from the class of 2006.
Five generations of the family had their photo in The Record-Courier on Nov. 13, 1986, where Amanda's big sister Jessica Park was the youngest of the five generations with great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Etherton the oldest at 83.
Elizabeth, who died in 1989, was related to Bill and Elvina Wilslef, who originally settled in what is now the Ranchos.
Baby Bailey is lucky to have so many attentive womenfolk.
"We're all baby sitters," said Deb Epps.
