More than 300 early voters turned out on Monday to cast ballots in the June 8 primary, bringing the total up to 720, or about 2.1 percent of the active and inactive voters in the county. Early voting continues today at the old courthouse in Minden and 4-6:30 p.m. today at the Sunridge Fire Station.
Someone asked me Monday if you could find out which candidates people were voting for. The answer is no. That information is top secret until 7 p.m. on June 8, when all balloting ends. They can't even count the ballots until then.
It's pretty clear out for a day when a big old low pressure system is supposed to be rolling into the Valley. The National Weather Service is sticking by its forecast, though. The system's leading edge is supposed to roll in by this afternoon, with a chance of rain after 1 p.m. The radar shows the storm just made landfall near the California-Oregon border. Expect a high today of 62 degrees. It will be breezy.
