Thanks to a generous donation of the Monte Wolfe Foundation, a new exhibit featuring artifacts and photos of Monte Wolfe, the legendary "lone wolf of the Mokelumne," opens Saturday at the Alpine County Museum.
The new exhibit displays many previously unseen artifacts from the reclusive mountain man, including rare old photos, hunting traps, and even Wolfe's signature buckskin jacket.
Mountain Man Stew is served noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, donations only. Music by All Hat No Cattle, noon to 3 p.m.
The Alpine Museum is located at the top of School House Hill in downtown Markleeville.
