Wednesday saw the largest turnout so far in early voting for the June 8 primary, with 427 people casting ballots, bringing the total for early voting up to 1,535 so far this election season. Early voting continues 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the old Minden Courthouse.
Douglas County commissioners will hold their regular meeting next Thursday at Fire Station No. 1. Early voting is using the commission chambers. The station is located at 1606 Highway 395.
The Douglas High School Speech & Debate team will be hosting a Cake & Debate fundraiser 6 p.m. today in the school commons. They're raising money to go to the June 12-19 national tournament in Kansas City.
There's a good chance of scattered showers after 11 a.m. today, but I have no idea if that will translate into actual rain. For as overcast as it has been during the last few days, we haven't received much in the way of rain.
