Holiday shopping today
The Curves Holiday Shopping Extravaganza begins 6 p.m. today at Curves, 1540 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Vendors include Silpada Designs, Pampered Chef, Cache Candles, Tupperware, H20 home cleaning products, Avon, art by Carol Lucas, and a bake sale. Wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Free admission, but donations of nonperishable food items is appreciated. Event benefits Carson Valley Community Food Closet and Relay for Life. Information, 782-3350.
Craft fair at Methodist church
Carson Valley United Methodist Church hosts their annual Christmas craft fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in the fellowship hall, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. On sale are handmade decorations, gifts, jewelry, and homebaked goods including pecan cinnamon rolls.
Lunch of lasagna, bread, salad, coffee or tea served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $2 for children. Event includes a silent auction and raffle, children's activities, music and choir caroling. Take photos with Santa, 10 a.m. to noon.
The craft fair is sponsored by United Methodist Women. Proceeds benefit local and international charities. Information, church office, 782-4600, or Carol Coleman, 265-3285.
Sagehens host annual bazaar
The Topaz Sagehens host their annual holiday bazaar, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, 4001 Carter Way, Wellington.
The event features baked goods, lunch, drinks, raffle prizes and drawings for specialty items.
The Sagehens use the proceeds of the bazaar to support the community in the form of donations or scholarships.

Closet Crafters fair Saturday
The Closet Crafters Craft Faire is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. On sale are homemade crafts and baked goods. Raffles for quilts and a Gotz 2003 Precious Day doll. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Information, Donna Coker, 783-7603.
