Thanks for the award

It was a privilege to attend the annual grant award luncheon Oct. 26 and witness the acceptance of awards by our hard working community organizations and non-profits.

The Partnership of Community Resources received an award to enhance youth leadership and initiate peer education within Douglas County on the topic of marijuana.

The Students Taking On Prevention club will have the opportunity to be educated and practice talking points regarding the harm and consequences of using marijuana.

Thank you Soroptimist women for your hard work throughout the year to provide all the grants and valuable contributions to Douglas County. Readers, save the date, Feb. 26, 2011, for the annual Savor the Flavor fundraiser to support continuation of community grants in 2011.
