It's Election Day, and the polls will open at 7 a.m. My bet is that the polls will be pretty quiet in Douglas County today, thanks to early voting. About half the Republicans in the county have already cast a ballot, either early or absentee. We'll have a cover-it live blog open for elections throughout the day and into the night to bring results as we get them.

The business of government continue in Douglas County today with the Gardnerville and Genoa town boards meeting tonight. Gardnerville will discuss increasing trash fees. Genoans will talk about the possibility of expanding the town's boundaries and the status of Candy Dance. Gardnerville Town Board members meet 4:30 p.m. at their offices. Genoans meet 6:30 p.m. in the Genoa meeting room.

Election Day will be warm with a high near 70 degrees and a light breeze. The weather looks like it will be clear through the week with a chance of rain on Sunday.
