Political newcomer Tim Hansen won the race for District 4 Mono County Supervisor on Tuesday.

According to preliminary final results released by the Mono County Clerk's Office, Hansen defeated challenger Tim Fesko 546-403. Hansen and Fesko were in a runoff after they both led in the primary election.

Hansen became a full-time Mono County resident in 1970 after discharge from the U.S. Army following one tour of duty in Vietnam. He recently served two terms on the Mono County Grand Jury, and is vice-chairman of the Mono Basin RPAC.

The District 4 Mono County seat was held by Supervisor Bill Reid until his death in October.
