A memorial service will be held on 10:30 a.m. Monday in Albany, N.Y., for former Gardnerville resident James R. Nadler, who died Nov. 1, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y. on May 27, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Marian (Cox) Nadler.
He graduated from Draper High School then served in the U.S. Navy for four years aboard the USS Sperry. After his discharge from the Navy, he met Yolanda Campolieto and they were married on July 1, 1956. Mr. Nadler worked for 35 years at the Schenectady Post Office. He also worked for 10 years as a bus driver for the Schalmont Central School District.
After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Gardnerville, living there for 10 years before moving back to Schenectady.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nadler was preceded in death by brothers Charles and George Nadler; sisters Elizabeth Nadler and Doris Ebert and great-grandson Logan Nadler.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yolanda M. Nadler; children James Jr., Scott, Dale (Janet), Lisa and Tod; siblings William Nadler and Virginia Rivadenerra; and daughters-in-law Tina, Maria and Patty Nadler; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on 2-4 p.m. Sunday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
