A funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Green-Hills Cemetery in San Pedro, Calif., for retired llama judge and 30-year Gardnerville resident Virginia Ann Christensen, 80, who died Nov. 5, 2010, at her home.
Born Aug. 14, 1930, in Rhode Island to Thomas and Virginia Balbon Neal, she married Richard Christensen June 9, 1951, in San Pedro.
She was a member and volunteer for the Alpaca and Llama Show Association. She was a national llama judge for more than than 20 years until she retired in 2006.
She enjoyed caring for animals, horseback riding, Jazzercise, and making cookies.
She is survived by son Rick (Jan) Christensen; daughter Claudia Lynn Christensen-Thomas; sister Elsie Edwins; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
