Minden resident and retired Command Sgt. Maj. John Hefner was inducted into the Nevada Army National Guard's Hall of Fame on Nov. 7 in Carson City.
Hefner was inducted into the Hall of Fame based on his military service and ongoing contributions to the Nevada National Guard.
Hefner began his military service in 1979. His career spanned three decades and culminated with his assignment as the sergeant major of domestic operations from June 2006 until his retirement on March 31, 2009.
Hefner currently works for the state of Nevada in the Rehabilitation Division as a management analyst in Carson City. In addition, he continues to serve as the legislative committee chairman for the Nevada Enlisted Association.
Hefner and Reno resident, retired Col. Joe Rooney, were congratulated on their induction by Nevada adjutant general Brig. Gen. Bill Burks upon their induction into the hall of fame.
