A Gardnerville man faces sentencing in two felony cases of driving under the influence this morning. Patrick K. McKinnon, 54, participated in a deferral program for repeat DUI offenders back in 2008. The 3-5 year program is designed to break the cycle for felony drunken drivers by getting them to stop drinking. It didn't go so well for Mr. McKinnon, who got drunk and was pulled over on Sept. 12 with a .24 blood alcohol content. The prosecution agreed to seek 12-30 months on each charge, but he could face up to six years.

It felt like snow weather sometimes during the weekend, but we should be mostly sunny today. Expect the high temperature to hit 55 today under sunny skies. There is a hint of some weather coming on Friday, with the National Weather Service saying snow is likely. We'll see how likely as we get closer to the end of the week.
