Gardnerville residents Robert and June Farley celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 19, 2010. They were married Oct. 19, 1950, in Lynnwood, Calif.
After graduation from high school, June attended a business college in southern California. She was employed at Southern California Edison Co. until the birth of her first child, and remained a homemaker.
After graduation from high school, Bob enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and served in England and Germany during World War II. He was a teamster for 38 years and retired in 1985.
The Farleys' children are Randy Farley and Ellen Nelson. They have four grandchildren.
The couple were avid square dancers for 35 years, and traveled around the Western states with their club. They enjoy golfing and watching their grandchildren's activities. The Farleys plan a trip to Hawaii in celebration of their anniversary.
