Elizabeth Tattersall of Stateline received her certified flight instructor glider rating at SoaringNV in Minden.

Tattersall started flying in June 2002 and received her single engine plane license in November 2002. She learned to fly gliders through the Civil Air Patrol and received her instruction from Fred LaSor of SoaringNV.

She received her private glider license in July 2007. Tattersall received her instruction from Jeffrey Hazlegrove of SoaringNV for her commercial glider pilot license which she earned in October 2008.

Tattersall gave rides for SoaringNV throughout the summer. She won the Maria Faber Scholarship from the Women's Soaring Pilot's Association in June. She will be directing a Civil Air Patrol Glider Flight Academy at Minden in June 2011 for 20 teenagers, ages 14-18.

"Elizabeth is a devoted glider pilot who has contributed many years to glider rides and training and academia at Western Nevada College," Hazlegrove said. "She works with Civil Air Patrol and does glider rides at SoaringNV. It has been a pleasure and learning experience to work with such a knowledgeable and exciting new glider flight instructor."
