Our congratulations go to the Coleville High School Wolves' football and volleyball teams. The boys' football team finished second in the state to their nemesis, Pahranagat Valley. It sure seems that team is hard to beat every year.
The volleyball girls also finished second in the state to Pahranagat Valley. We are so very proud of you both for being in the state championships, no matter what the outcome. We love you kids.
Lions basketball tournament
The Antelope Valley Lions Club will be holding their annual basketball tournament at Coleville High School Dec. 3 and 4. Friday action starts at 3 p.m., with Saturday beginning at noon. Try to get out and see how good these kids are.
Coleville Boosters dinner
The Coleville Boosters are having a barbecue dinner at the Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 4. The doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults, children 6-12 years $5 and children under 5 years free. They will also have a silent auction, a dessert auction, and a raffle that evening. This is all to raise funds for the student-athletes, so it is very worthwhile.
Antelope Valley Fire Department
On Saturday, we received a beautiful newsletter, the Fire Post, from our fire department. It had lots of information in it about what they do, wanting volunteers, and helpful hints for us in case of fire issues at our homes. They also offered tours of their stations. Just call (530) 495-2900 on Tuesday or Wednesday to schedule one.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and gets lots of goodies to eat and enjoy. With the snow we have had, it does seem like it is winter holiday time. You are especially reminded of that when you watch TV and hear about all the Black Friday sales for Christmas shopping. Happy Thanksgiving.
