Merrill Gardens at Gardnerville has announced that Katie Nichols has been named assisted living supervisor.
Nichols holds a bachelor's degree in health education from the University of Nevada, Reno. In addition, she is a certified medical assistant, certified phlebotomist, and EKG technician.
Nichols has many years of experience in the healthcare field, and has held positions at both Carson Valley Medical Center and Barton Memorial Hospital. She was also a laboratory manager for LabCorp. In her new role, Nichols will oversee the delivery of personal care to all of the facility's residents, including medication management and the activities of daily living.
"Katie's unique blend of education and experience will undoubtedly be an asset to our assisted living program," said Greg Klick, general manager of Merrill Gardens. "We look forward to Katie working with our staff to continuously improve the quality of services we provide to our residents."
