Candidates will be on the stump in Minden today. First up are the county commissioners who will be talking at the Douglas County Democratic Women's lunch at the Carson Valley Inn. Then at 7 p.m., candidates for Minden Town Board flood the CVIC Hall for a forum.

A Gardnerville Ranchos man who allegedly broke into a neighbor's house, frightening a 10-year-old boy, is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for a pre-trial conference. Todd Patrick Holdren was arrested May 14 after he allegedly kicked the door open. The boy had already called 911. Holdren was arraigned on June 14.

It has been raining like crazy for most of the early morning today, and we've had a couple of power bumps in the West Valley. There's a good chance we'll see a Tonopah low bringing moisture back around on Tuesday and Wednesday, so get used to the wet for a couple of days. Expect today's high temperature to hit a whopping 60 degrees with a 100 percent chance of rain.
