"Saturday Night Live" meets the Sierra when the Dakota Organization and the Brewery Arts Center Performing Arts Collaborative present "I Say Nevada, " Oct. 15-17, at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Directed by BACPAC's Karen Chandler, the musical sketch comedy lampoons the politics and the culture of the Silver State in time for Nevada Day and Election Day.

"I Say Nevada" was created by author and musician Bob Reid. The show was a hit in Carson City in 2008 and has been updated to the "Government Bailout Edition."

Sam Bauman of the Nevada Appeal said writer-composer Reid shows his talent with his fine, fast, tuneful revue. "He catches the tome of Nevada neatly, and while it may baffle transplanted New Yorkers, he's right on the button with his satire."

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16, and 2 p.m. Oct. 17, at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda, Minden.

Tickets are $17 general admission, $10 for senior and students, and may be purchased at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Highway 395, Minden, at 265-2942 or thedakotaorganization.com

The Dakota Organization and the Brewery Arts Center are 501(c) (3) Nevada nonprofit corporations. A portion of the proceeds of this performance benefits the Alzheimer's Association.
