Douglas High senior Amelia Ritger won the third regional title of her high school career Saturday, defeating Reno's McCall Board 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match at the Caughlin Club in Reno.
Ritger bested Reno's Shelly Tone 7-5, 6-0 earlier in the day to advance to the finals.
Douglas produced dual regional champions for the second consecutive year as junior James TenBroeck beat Reno's Kenny Stark 6-3, 6-0 in the finals.
TenBroeck had a nearly two-year set win streak snapped in the semifinals when McQueen's Joe Saarem nabbed him 4-6 in the opening set. TenBroeck rallied back with 6-2 and 6-4 wins to advance to the finals.
Both Ritger and TenBroeck advanced to the state tournament next weekend in Reno.
Ritger won regional titles as a freshman and sophomore, going through her first two full seasons without losing a set against Northern Nevada competition.
She was defeated in last year's regional finals by teammate Kari TenBroeck, James' sister.
