A viewing is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley in Gardnerville for 12-year resident Norman Howard Prunier, 80, who died in Reno on Oct. 18, 2010. A graveside service is noon Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Born June 28, 1930, in Taunton, Mass., to Theodore and Laura Poissant Prunier, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He married Barbara Wood on Nov. 22, 1953, in Reno.

Mr. Prunier was a retired bus driver, who enjoyed prospecting, reading and collecting. He was a member of the San Jose Coin Club and the Treasure Hunters Association.

He is survived by his wife; daughters Laura Prunier of Lakewood, Colo., Aileen Armitage of Carson City, and Karen (Bill) Schenk of Evergreen, Colo.; brother Richard (Marilyn) of Ohio; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to paralyzed veterans charities.
