The Douglas County Sheriff's Protective Association announced its endorsement of Douglas County Commissioner Dave Brady for county commissioner.

Brady is being challenged by Lee Bonner for the District 2 seat. The Douglas County Sheriff's Protective Association is comprised of 95 percent of the jail officers, deputy sheriffs, and investigators employed by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. "Commissioner Brady has consistently shown himself to be a strong supporter of public safety, advocating for equipment, enhanced technology and capital infrastructure for the sheriff's department," the association said. "During such challenging and difficult financial times, we strongly encourage the citizens of Douglas County to vote for Brady."

Both Brady and Bonner are Republicans.

Brady is vice chairman of the county commission.
