A 60-year-old former Carson City woman is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court for sentencing on a single count of embezzlement. Prosecutors are recommending that Sandra Kay Hunter receive a 33-84-month suspended prison sentence, a year in jail and that she pay back $99,359 in restitution.
So far 1,679 people have early voted in Douglas County, a turnout that looks more like a presidential year election. Early voting continues at the Minden courthouse 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and at Sunridge Station 12 in Indian Hills 3-6 p.m.
We should see something approaching freezing temperatures tonight with the low dropping to around 32 degrees under clear skies. Today's weather is expected to be sunny with a high temperature of 68 degrees.
