The Sierra Lutheran High School volleyball team improved to 14-1 on the year Tuesday night, defeating Virginia City 20-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-17.
The Falcons were able to play some of their less-experienced players in the first set but turned to their starters in the second set. In the third set, the Muckers built a 24-17 lead, but Sierra Lutheran rallied for the next nine points to steal the set away.
Senior Mariah West had an excellent match with two kills and 13 digs and one huge block.
Tiffany Patrick, a junior, had 12 assists, 10 aces and 11 kills. Junior Hannah Ediss helped with the win by adding 12 assists, five aces and five kills. McKinze Tynes, a sophomore, contributed two big blocks and five kills.
The Falcons last game of the regular season is Wednesday at Capital City Volleyball Club where the team will take on Coleville. Coleville is the only team the Falcons have lost to this season.
