EDITOR:

The senior education seminar, sponsored by Douglas County Nevada TRIAD in conjunction with the Carson Valley Medical Center and held at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church on Oct. 13, was a complete success. The theme of this year's seminar was "Care for the Caregiver." Diana Malekos from the Carson Valley Medical Center did a great job in managing this presentation and Travis Lee, TRIAD President and Douglas County Senior Services Manager, was an excellent master of ceremonies. Congratulations to the outstanding presenters who were Registered Nurses Dee Dee Metcalf, Amy Meeks and Mary Foraker plus Heather Korbulik and Laura Rich from the Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division.

Most of the attendees were caregivers, medical professionals and seniors. Breakfast and lunch were provided and served by TRIAD which was appreciated by those in attendance. There were numerous vendors with interesting displays and information. These vendors also donated unique and generous raffle prizes. A special appreciation goes out to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, East Fork Fire & Paramedics District and Douglas County Senior Center who were instrumental in making this seminar a success.
