The Carson Valley Art Association's Scholarship Benefit Show is Nov. 4-7 in the CVIC Hall in Minden. This is a judged show with cash prizes and ribbons awarded in seven media, Best in Show and People's Choice.
Receiving is 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 4. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 5, with an artists' reception with snacks and beverages at 6-8 p.m.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 6, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7, with a raffle 2-3 p.m. for prizes donated by local businesses. Pickup is 3-4 p.m. Nov. 7. The show enables CVAA to award scholarships to Douglas High School continuing art students.

A four-month series of ballroom dance taught by Larry Ward begins Nov. 7 at Genoa Town Hall. Classes are 7-9 p.m. Sundays through graduation on Feb. 27. Learn cha-cha, waltz, fox trot, salsa, East Coast swing, Texas two-step, American tango and night club two-step. Each session is $10 for adults and $8 for teens.
