The Tahoe-Douglas Elks Summerfest Carnival continues through 8 p.m. Labor Day in Lampe Park in Gardnerville.

Hours for the carnival are noon to 11 p.m. today and Sunday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Labor Day.

All-day wristband tickets are sold at the carnival for $25.

The Elks provide the sale of hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, margaritas, and face painting.

All proceeds go back into the community to support Elks charitable activities for youth, seniors and veterans in Douglas County. Elks support Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, student scholarships, drug awareness programs, student of the month awards, and the supply of dictionaries to some Douglas students.

Local, state and federal offices will be closed Monday for Labor Day, as will most financial institutions and The Record-Courier.
