Douglas Country TRIAD in conjunction with Carson Valley Medical Center will host an annual free senior educational seminar, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13, at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.
The theme of this year's seminar is "Care for the Caregiver."
The seminar starts with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and sessions begin at 8:15 a.m.
Representatives from the medical center will speak on topics including everyday creativity, caring for the caregiver, infection prevention and control, elder abuse and advocacy and relaxation.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. by TRIAD. The seminar will be concluded at 2 p.m. Continuing education units are pending from the Board of Examiners for Social Workers and University of Nevada School of Medicine for Nurses.
This seminar is primarily designed for nurses, CNA's, professional and family caregivers, social workers, administrators and seniors, but it is open to all those interested in the subject matter.
Vendor booths are also available.
There is limited seating, so registration is required by Oct. 6. Registrations forms may be obtained at the Douglas County Senior Center, Douglas County Sheriff's Office or Carson Valley Medical Center.
