The red flag goes up at noon today as a front pushes high winds through Western Nevada, lowering humidity and causing critical fire weather conditions. The warning lasts until 8 p.m. today when humidity will start to climb along with the possibility of rain. Expect winds 15-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
Gardnerville residents may see their trash rates go up again this year. Members of the town board are scheduled to discuss a rate increase at their regular meeting 4:30 p.m. in the town offices. Also on the agenda is a request for support for federal transportation funds that could be used to complete Muller Parkway, completing East Valley Road or connecting Long Valley Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos to Highway 395.
The Genoa Town Board meets 6:30 p.m. today. I don't actually have a copy of the agenda at hand, but I know they'll be talking about the final preparations for Candy Dance, which is in three weeks. I'll update this when I find the paperwork.
