It looks like it didn't get quite as cold as the National Weather Service anticipated. Minden is at 36 degrees this morning, The Gardnerville Ranchos is reading 40 and it's 39 degrees in Genoa. The weather service has issued a morning frost warning for this morning in the higher Valleys of the Sierra.

Gardnerville and Minden's chairmen and vice chairmen are meeting 11:30 a.m. at the CVIC Hall to talk about their similar responsibilities. No action would be taken at the meeting.

Whether you like flea markets or ferrets, green living or getting stuff, there's a ton to do this weekend in Carson Valley. Check out today's calendar online on the e-edition, or pick up a copy of The Record-Courier to find out how the weekend shapes up for activities.

The weather is going to be nice over the weekend, too. Today's high is forecast to hit 76 and the weekend's highs won't be much warmer than the 80s. Have a great time on this second to the last weekend of summer.
