The Douglas High girls' golf team continued to see improvement in its third league tournament of the season, taking fourth for the third consecutive week at Wolf Run in Reno.
"The kids played really well today," Douglas coach Steve Gustafson said. "All of the girls improved or played right at average. Although we finished in fourth again, the kids are shooting some pretty good scores.
"Wolf Run is a tough golf course, with lots of trouble if you aren't playing smart. Before the round, we talked about how important it was to keep the ball in play. There is a lot of sagebrush and many creeks throughout the course, that will cause a lot of penalty strokes. For the most part, they did just that."
Tiger senior Bethany Wurster shot a 72 to win her third-straight tournament. Tawnie Wentz shot a 97, Devyn Hotho shot a 110, Molly Jordan shot a 111, Emily Gosselin came in at 120 and Maddy Emery shot a 141.
