County commissioners will talk about combining the Fairgrounds/Sunrise Estates Water System with another county water system today in their meeting at Lake Tahoe. Sunrise Estates residents thought they were in the East Valley water system until their water rates went up an astronomical amount earlier this month. Also, commissioners will talk about creating an advisory committee to provide recommendations on the water systems.
Commissioners may also extend interim East Fork Justice of the Peace Steve McMorris' contract while refining the application process for the job. They received at least one letter protesting the new application form. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center.
The state flew over the Pine Nuts on Monday to conduct a wild horse census on Monday. The feds are planning a round-up of the horses living outside the management area.
