Chris Balcom-Miller (Douglas '06), P, Greenville Drive (Red Sox Single-A): Season ended Saturday after the Drive lost in the league championship series. Balcom-Miller went 7-7 on the year with a 3.30 ERA. He struck out 120 in 114.2 innings pitched and walked only 19 batters.

Jeff Nady (Douglas '08), soph., OL, Nevada: Saw significant playing time in Nevada's upset 52-31 win over No. 24 Cal after starting tackle Steve Haley broke his wrist. Nady is expected to start this week against BYU.


Parker Robertson (Douglas '09), Rfr., OL, Utah State: Did not play in a 41-24 loss to Fresno State.


Billy Coats (Douglas '07), soph., LS, Navy: Did not play in Navy's 37-23 win over Louisiana Tech.


Jake Peterson (Douglas '03), sr., DL, Pennsylvania: The Quakers beat Lafayette 19-14 Saturday and are currently ranked No. 24 in the FCS. Peterson registered a solo tackle

Davey Fisher (Douglas '09), soph., WR, Pacific Lutheran: The Lutes beat No. 15 Cal Lutheran 35-21 Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the year. Fisher did not play.


Johnny Pollack (Douglas '10), fr., RB, Adams State: Red-shirting. Adams State lost to CSU-Pueblo 27-10 last week.


Garrett Tenney (Douglas '10), fr., LB, Jamestown: Jamestown lost to Black Hills State 28-25.


Jason Peters (Coleville '10), fr., QB/TE, Grinnell College: Grinnell fell to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league play with a 48-21 loss to Ripon Saturday. Peters, who is starting at tight end for the Pioneers, has five catches for 29 yards on the year.


Nikolai Vasquez (Douglas '10), fr., K, Butte: Vasquez had three PATs and a missed 40-yard field goal attempt in a 27-17 win over Sierra two weeks ago and then nailed a 28-yard field goal and two of three PATs (the third was a botched snap) in a comeback win over Feather River.


Nick Mortenson (Douglas '09), fr., OL, Butte: Butte beat Feather River 31-21 on Saturday.

Kyle Mannschreck (Douglas '06), sr., M/D/GK, Academy of Art: The Urban Knights fell to Dixie State and Grand Canyon last week. Mannschreck has four shots on goal for the season.


Danyelle Heidt (Douglas '09), soph., M, Biola: Biola upset No. 20 College of Idaho 2-1 in overtime last week and tied No. 12 Cal State San Marcos 0-0. Heidt has played in one game so far.


Edgar Arceo (Douglas '10), fr., F, Kenyon College: Kenyon is 6-0-1 on the year and is currently No. 22 in the country. Arceo has played in all seven games and has two goals.

Colleen Carlson (Douglas '03), sr., San Diego: San Diego is riding a six-match win streak after beating Minnesota, UC Santa Barbara and San Diego State last week.


Mysta Townsell (Douglas '10), fr., Chicago State: Chicago State has lost its first 14 matches. Townsell has won the spot as starting defensive specialist and had 22 digs in a loss to NJIT last week.


Dawson Joyce-Mendive (Douglas '06), sr., Tufts: The Jumbos are 3-0 on the year.


Melissa Brown (Douglas '08), soph., UMass-Boston: The Beacons are 10-1 to open the season. Brown has two kills and four service points in four matches played.


Christine DuPuis (Douglas '10), fr., UMass-Boston: DuPuis has played in seven matches and has a kill, an ace and 11 digs for the Beacons.


Taryn Williams (Douglas '09), soph., California Lutheran: The Regals have rattled off five straight wins after opening the season 0-3. Williams has played in one match with four digs.


Megan Mitchell (Douglas '09), soph., Lees-McRae: Lees-McRae beat Queens University and Coker last week to improve to 5-6 on the year. Mitchell has started 10 of 11 matches and has 33 kills, 390 assists, 18 aces and 12 blocks.


Alex Risko (Douglas '06), jr., Cal State Los Angeles: Risko five digs in a loss to No. 2 Cal State San Bernadino and a win over Cal Poly Pomona.

Wade Meddles (Sierra Lutheran '10), fr., Azusa Pacific: Meddles finished ninth in the Irvine Invitational after leading through the first two miles of the race. He tailed off toward the end of his first-ever 8K race, finishing in 25 minutes and 22 seconds.
