A Gardnerville woman who was stopped for a traffic infraction is being held on multiple stolen property and fraud counts after deputies allegedly found a bundle of Social Security cards and other identification in her purse.
Jennifer Alexander, 29, was pulled over on Highway 395 in Gardnerville at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday after she swerved. A routine background check revealed a traffic warrant out of Carson City, prompting deputies to take her into custody.
Because they couldn't reach the owner of the vehicle, deputies decided to tow it and conducted an inventory search. During the inventory, they allegedly found Alexander's purse which contained the Social Security cards, two drivers licenses, four school identifications, none of which were in her name.
Deputies contacted the Reno Police Department, which said they'd received a report that the items had been stolen from a purse on Sept. 14.
Alexander was booked in lieu of $91,337. She is scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court today.
