Purse sale Saturday in Carson
More than 1,000 gently used purses have been collected, cleaned and priced for Baggin' Memory Loss, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Nugget Casino in Carson City.
Prices are $1 to $50, and include brands such as Dooney & Burke, Coach, and XOXO.
Proceeds from the purse resale event benefit Memory Walk fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association on Oct. 9 at the Sparks Marina. Information, Corneil Vacirca, (775) 230-5892.
Call for artists
Nevada artists are wanted to submit work for the Nevada Artists Association's 60th annual Nevada Day Show, Oct. 3 - Nov. 19, at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.
There are 10 categories to be judged with ribbons and cash awarded. Entry day is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2. An artists' reception is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Brewery Arts Center gallery, 449 W. Change your oil for a cause Oct. 9
Mike's Mobile Oil hosts the Oil Change for a Cause fundraiser, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 9, in the parking lot of Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St., Carson City.
