The Douglas boys' soccer team fell to Hug 1-0 Wednesday in Minden on a late goal by the Hawks.

Hug put the game-winner in on a breakaway with eight minutes to play.

"It was just an unfortunate exchange that led to a breakdown," Douglas coach Milko Vasquez said. "We got the inital stop on it, but the clear went right to their guy and that was it."

Vasquez said his team controlled possession for a good majority of the game and had a number of solid scoring chances.

"We should have had two goals in the first half, but we just couldn't capitalize," Vasquez said. "We need to learn how to take advantage of those situations."

Vasquez said Audrick Anderson, Roy Dornbrook and keeper Francisco Sanchez had good games for the Tigers.

Douglas will host Damonte Ranch at 3 p.m. Friday. when the team will celebrate Senior Day early.
