Coming off the prestigious Stanford Invitational last week, the Douglas cross country team has set itself up for a strong run through the end of the season.

All five runners that ran in last year's Stanford meet cut close to a minute off their times.

Bre Chabot cut 2:05 off her time, coming in at 22:17.

"She's have a great sesason and I'm confident she'll keep knocking off more and more time," Douglas coach Jay Frey said.

Andrew Cobourn took 12th in the race, finishing in 16:20.

"He set some pretty high goals for himself entering the season and he's checking every one of them off as he goes," Frey said. "He's more calm and confident as he prepares for these races and while he's running them also.

"He wanted to finish in the top 15 at Stanford in under 16:35, both of which he comfortably exceeded. "

Tanner DeGiovanni set a PR by 15 seconds, coming in at 18:25.

Sadie Gastelum also set a PR, hers coming by 1:18 with a 28th-place 20:09 finish.

"This is a girl that has developed a greater vision and focus this year that is going to pay off for her," Frey said. "Things are really starting to click for her and she's still got some moves to make in the pack."

Freshmen Cole Peck (18:40), Brandon Pankey (18:57), Jeff Williams (19:28) and Parker Dixon (20:27) ran well for Douglas, as did first-year senior Daniel Lundergreen (20:54).

Kylie Flannagan ran a 23:42 and Eunice Perez came in at 24:09.
