Deadline for Big Game drawing nears

Applications must be received, either via mail or online at www.huntnevada

.com, by 5 p.m. April 18, to be eligible for the annual Big Game drawing.

Hunters who applied online in the past were sent a postcard reminding them it is time to apply. Those hunters who applied on paper through the mail were sent a pre-printed application. Otherwise, paper applications will only be available at Nevada Department of Wildlife offices and online at www.ndow.org.

Hunters will be officially notified of the draw results by June 13. However, initial tag draw results to be posted online at www.huntnevada.com within 48 hours of the actual draw, which is usually held in late May.

Shop to host consignment event

Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Flip Flop Kids Shop will host a huge semi-annual consignment event today, Saturday and Sunday at the old Oak Furniture outlet, 2270 Highway 50 East, Plaza 50.

People are encouraged to bring their gently used items such as women's and children's clothing, play equipment, toys and more.

Print your own tags, receive up to 65 percent of selling prices. Five referrals earns an additional 5 percent, up to 70 percent.

The sale is open to the public Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., everything is half off.

Healthcare Auxiliary to host rummage sale

The Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary is sponsoring its second annual rummage sale offer what sponsors say is "a fun time at a great location with many treasures for very reasonable prices."

The rummage sale will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. April 8, and from 8 a.m.-noon April 9 at the Eagles Lodge, 1380 E. 5th St.

Organizers welcome donations for the sale from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 6 and 7. No computers, TVs, or large appliances, please. Help the auxiliary with its fundraiser by cleaning out those closets and garages.

Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary is an all volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization whose purpose is to render assistance through public activities and fundraising in support of the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

Booths available for flea market

Reserve space now for the Douglas County Historical Society flea market, which takes place in the parking lot of the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 N., Gardnerville, on June 18.

Spaces are $20 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space paid in advance or $30 on the day of the event. 

These flea markets offer the seller excellent Highway 395 visibility and plenty of buyer parking behind the museum.
