Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Donald Paul Jackson, 27, a project engineer from Carson City, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony obtaining money under false pretenses, uttering a forged instrument, and three warrants for failure to appear. According to the arrest report, Jackson was allegedly trying to pass a fraudulent $1,798 check purportedly from the Washoe Tribe. His bail was set at $10,000.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Accident at King and Mountain streets at 8:38 a.m.

• A retail worker reported at 3:49 p.m. he suspected an ex-employee left "slanderous signs" on his vehicle parked outside the store.

• Report of the driver of a blue late model Toyota Celica trying to run over a security officer in the 2200 block of Highway 50 East at 11:35 p.m.

• A woman reported at 2:20 p.m. someone known to her filed a false tax return in her name and received the refund.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• A shoplifting suspect was cited at the Fernley Walmart at 8:24 a.m.

• Report of a wallet found at 1:04 p.m. on North Main Street in Fernley.

• Two were cited for shoplifting at the Fernley Walmart at 4:53 p.m.

• Report of a purse stolen from Fernley at 5:15 p.m.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report at 4:32 p.m. of a motorhome hitting a street light and damaging it on C Street.

• A caller wanted to speak with a deputy about a continual problem with barking dogs at 9:39 p.m. on Rue De La in Lockwood.
