Kids & Horses invites the public to their equestrian center to ride their horses, eat barbecue food, country music and learn about therapeutic riding.
Kids & Horses will honor autism awareness with a trail ride and poker run, "Ride the Trail in Their Spurs," from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., April 23 at the Double W Ranch, where Kids & Horses is located in Minden. The goal is to create awareness about autism, therapeutic riding and help fund scholarships for students in need.
"This will be a fun event at the ranch," said Alexis Roman Hill, Kids & Horses executive director. "This trail ride and poker run will be a great opportunity to spread autism awareness and show the life-changing therapeutic riding that Kids & Horses provides to our students and their families."
Tickets for the Kids & Horses barbecue are $5, tickets to the poker run are $20, and tickets to the trail ride are a suggested donation.
Kids & Horses has benefited those who are faced with blindness, paralysis, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, emotional issues, amputation and many other impairments.
Scholar-ships are available for students, and no student has been turned away because of financial need.
