Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• A 21-year-old Fernley man was arrested at 11:27 a.m. Thursday at Long and Nevada streets on a warrant alleging misdemeanor failure to comply. Bail was set at $500.
• A 36-year-old construction worker from Carson City was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Sheffield Manor on suspicion of second-offense domestic battery. He allegedly threw down his wife, breaking her collar bone. According to the arrest report, the wife refused to cooperate with deputies. Bail was set at $5,000.
• David Allen Bennett, 42, a painter, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony third-offense drunken driving, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and misdemeanor having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. A preliminary breath test at the scene indicated his blood-alcohol content was .391, nearly five times the legal limit of .08. Bail was set at $10,000.
• Deborah Ellen Duffy, 24, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested Thursday at 3:22 p.m. in the 400 block of East Lee Street on suspicion of felony grand larceny. She was allegedly in possession of a vehicle reported stolen and belonging to her grandfather. Bail was set at $25,000.
• Terry Lynn Kautz, 53, of Carson City, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. in the 1100 block of East William Street on suspicion of felony probation violation. No bail was set.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
• A woman reported at 10:15 a.m. an employee, whose hours she cut back, was sending information about her out on the Internet and causing her to receive unsolicited sales calls and nearly 800 email offers.
• Coroner call at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center at 8:13 a.m.
• Commercial burglary report in the 300 block of South Carson Meadows Drive at 11:32 a.m.
• Accident in the 3000 block of North Roop Street at 2:15 p.m.
Lyon County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:
• A Silver Springs man reported at 1:51 a.m. that he had some friends stay with him on Tonopah Street and they stole items.
• At 10:29 a.m. the Silver Springs man called again, this time to report his female neighbor punched him in the jaw.
• Report of a plastic bag with the end of a shotgun sticking out of it, about 10 feet from Highway 341 in Mound House at 6:08 p.m. "(The caller) advised she saw the same thing in the same area in the '90s. Weird," the dispatch log reads.
• A Silver Springs man reported at 10:22 p.m. that "he brought a homeless woman into his home and she is now threatening to kill him." The caller said he thought the woman was crazy and he was worried his and his son's welfare.
