February 26, 1954 - March 31, 2011
Randy Clarence Smith, of Silver Springs, walked home with the Lord on March 31, 2011. Randy was born on Feb. 26, 1954, to Nina Nelson Smith and Jesse Smith in San Diego. He attended high school in Hawthorne, then moved on to join the Navy.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother Nina Nelson Smith and father Jesse Smith of Carson City. Randy is survived by three sons, Travis Smith and wife Jill of Reno, Heath Smith Proctor of Georgia, and Nathan Smith Proctor of Dayton; sister Sue Bird of Smith Valley; brother's Ray Smith of Dayton and Roland Smith and wife Mary of Silver Springs; grandchildren Ashlee Proctor of Dayton and Jakob Proctor of Carson City; and many friends.
Randy was an exceptional musician and loved all kinds of music, this being a passion he passed on to his sons. He was also an avid sports fan, another quality he passed on to his boys, his favorite teams consisting of the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers. Randy was a loving father and his boy's biggest fan at any sporting events. Although parent's were not allowed on the sidelines of the game, he somehow always ended up down on the field rooting them on!
Randy will forever be missed and loved by all. Walk with the Lord; be proud and strong, for with us your memory will always live on.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Autumn Funerals & Cremations at 1575 North Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV 89701.
Today we lay to rest
an amazing, yet simple man
although we were not ready
it is part of the master plan
We will say goodbye
to the physical meaning
but say hello again
to the spiritual being
Forever we will cherish
the brief time we had with you
we will always have the memories
you are our Dad, that we knew
Rest in peace, Dad
for not today, but soon
we will reunite as a family
when we will once again be with you.
