A Stagecoach man was found guilty by a jury Monday of molesting five girls under 14 years old.
After less than three hours of deliberation, and following six days of testimony, the Yerington District Court jury found William Billy Jack Caron, 36, guilty on 10 felony counts of sexual assault of a child under 14 and four felony counts of lewdness with a child under 14.
The victims in this case were five girls between the ages of 9 and 13.
"This conviction brings these victims and their families' justice and serves to keep the citizens of Lyon County safe from persons who would commit crimes against children," said Lyon County Assistant District Attorney Mark Krueger who, along with Lyon County Senior Deputy District Attorney Joseph Reynolds, prosecuted the case.
According to court documents, Caron molested the girls in his truck in the desert, during trips into Carson City to pick up his wife and at the Stagecoach home he shared with his wife and mother.
Caron's roommate Andrew Carpenter, 21, pleaded guilty to having sex with the 11-year-old sister of one of Caron's alleged victims and was sentenced in July to 10 years to life in prison.
Caron faces 35 years to life on each sexual assault count and 10 years to life on each lewdness count when sentenced June 13.
