Terry Alan Mathews, 48, a Carson City resident for 18 years and a former resident of Rio Del, Calif., and Southern California, died April 5, 2011, in Carson City.
Mr. Mathews was born Nov 24, 1962, in Norwalk, Calif., to Willis and Joyce Mathews (Box).
He was a 1980 graduate of Saugus High School in California and worked for The Police Academy Post in Carson City.
He enjoyed fishing, NFL football (Green Bay Packers), and enjoyed meeting new people and talking with them. Terry truly had a "Heart of Gold." He will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
Among his survivors are his mother Joyce Box; aunt Joanne Murphy of Waukesha, Wis.; sisters Teresa Mathews-Fozard and her husband Richard Fozard and Deborah Mathews-Hernandez; brother Michael William Mathews and his wife Vicki Mathews; nieces and nephews Melissa Rae Mitchell of Arkansas, Mariah Michelle Mathews and Joshua Andrew Mathews of Woodstock, Ga., and Richard William Lewis Fozard of Carson City; and great niece Hailee Nicole Mitchell of Arkansas.
