The directors of the State Orphan's home have discounted alleged acts of cruel punishment. That means, the management has been acquitted without trial. There has been no public trial. No one has been put under oath. No investigation has been made. This is the very worst thing that could have been done as it only serves to deepen the public impression regarding the matter.

The board of Nevada highway directors directed engineer R. A. Allen to proceed with paving Virginia City's 'C' Street. Work ordered includes curbs and gutters. The old porches on main street will not be removed.

Pinball machines may come under state gaming laws if they pay off in cash or free games. The key is if the pinball machine free game is considered something of "value."

A proposal to require couples to wait 60 days before seeking a divorce and requiring mediation and marriage counseling was put on hold by a Senate committee.

A proposed moratorium on executions would have to pass both houses of the legislature and be signed by the governor in 10 days to save condemned inmate Sebastian Bridges.
