Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Jason Michael Way, 32, a security officer from Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. in the 900 block of East Musser Street on a warrant for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $2,500.

• Melissa Cahill, 23, of Carson City, was arrested at 1:36 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of South Curry Street on suspicion of felony probation violation. No bail was set.

• Bryan James Heath, 34, of Carson City, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday at Neptune and Carmine drives on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license, no insurance and no tail lamps. Bail was set at $2,500. Also arrested was Sonja Marie Cortinas, 33, of Carson City, on suspicion of felony failure to appear in Douglas County, misdemeanor probation violation, failure to appear on a traffic citation and obstructing. No bail was set.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday

• At 10:18 a.m. an 18-year-old man turned in a $100 bill as property he found on the street.

• Report at 5:41 p.m. of money and a handgun stolen from a home on Manzanita Terrace sometime Tuesday night.

• Report at 6:16 p.m. at the park on West College Parkway of three juveniles throwing water balloons and, "now leaving with a green trash can."

• A woman was jailed at 7:12 p.m. for stuffing Swedish Fish candy, Twizzlers licorice and frozen chicken into her purse, while her friend stuffed a bottle of Jim Beam whiskey down his pants.
