Bike month coming in May

May is National Bike Month, and organizers are planning many activities to celebrate, including the annual Corporate Commuter Challenge.

Last year, Carson City competitors completed 987 trips by bike and logged in 3,234 miles.

To kick off Bike Month, the Bike Habitat will be hosting the fourth annual Tour of Carson City on May 1. The route once again taking riders around the perimeter of Carson City for a moderately paced 27- to 30-mile road ride. Although this a free event, donations are being accepted to support Muscle Powered, Citizens for a Bikeable and Walkable Carson City. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m., ride begins at 9:30.
