On Sunday morning the noisy nuisance "Whistling Dick," and a respectable gentleman, both drunk as lords, with arms affectionately wound around each other, were reeling down Carson street, rendering themselves the cynosure of all eyes. Drunk as he was, Dick looked like he was ashamed of his company.

Harry Edwards has lost a valuable hunting dog to the dog poisoner. This morning half a dozen other dogs were found dead of poisoning. Jim Denning lost one, as did Thurman Roberts with another lying dead near the railroad depot. The deliberate indiscriminate killing of animals is not only cowardly but criminal.
