DBA to host downtown festival in June
The Carson City Downtown Business Association is hosting its inaugural "Legends of the West Bike & Car Fest," June 3-5.
This event is closing the streets of downtown Carson City and opening them to bikes and cars in 16 different classes with trophies being awarded.
Activities include a show and shine, motorcycle agility demonstration, treasure hunts, evening cruise, vendors, food, Elks pancake breakfast, Miss Legends contest, Legends wedding and an awards ceremony. Live entertainment will be at Firkin Friday and Rock the House Saturday night, as well as a Sock Hop with DJ "EM."

Dayton Food Pantry's yard sale May 7
A big spring yard sale to raise funds for the nonprofit Dayton Food Pantry is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at 4 Enterprise Way in Dayton.
Director Freida Carbery said donations of items for the yard sale are welcome, and may be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Food Pantry Monday through Friday.
Emergency food: Dayton Food Pantry is open for emergency food needs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 4 Enterprise Way on Highway 50. The building space is generously donated by BCB Ventures.
Regular distribution days: Normal distribution days for commodities will be noon to 4 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month at Sutro Elementary School in Dayton at 190 Dayton Village Parkway. Special thanks goes to Sutro Elementary's principal, custodians, and counselor and Lyon School District for their generous contribution of this comfortable space for distribution days. Free foreclosure class for homeowners
Nevada Legal Services is offering a free foreclosure information class available to any homeowner in Nevada at 2 p.m. May 10 at the Carson City Library, 900 N. Roop St.
The class will focus on the foreclosure process including mandatory mediation and the government sponsored loss mitigation options.
