The Carson golf team has been pretty steady for much of the year, playing strong, consistent golf.
The Senators stayed the course on Wednesday, shooting a 435 team on their way to a third-place finish during a Sierra League tournament at Arrowcreek.
"We had good scores," coach Terry Gingell said. "We can always do better, but we are playing pretty well."
Galena won with Manogue right behind. Carson was led by Garrett Gingell, who shot a 78.
"Garrett is playing well for us," the elder Gingell said. "He played well today; he had a bad last hole ... he has been playing nice and solid."
Roman Smokey carded an 84, Mitch Parra (88) and Nate Brown followed (90).
Coach Gingell said Brown played very well on the front nine, carding a 39.
"He was a bit disappointed," Gingell said. "He had a few bad holes on the back."
Freshman Sam Bruketta, playing in his first tournament, shot a 95. Jonathan Porter shot a non-scoring 101.
Bruketta won the Senators' qualifying tournament to make the lineup earlier this week. Gingell said he sees a lot of potential in the freshman.
Carson returns to action at noon Tuesday for the last Sierra League meet of the year at Thunder Canyon.
