There isn't a man in Carson who can lay his hand on his heart and say that he never stole a watermelon. That who have not stolen any probably tried and failed. In the clear moonlight nights when the air is crisp and bracing, there is no recreation so delightful as the stealing of a tender and juicy watermelon.

The Masons Lodge will give one of the largest picnics ever at Bowers Mansion. Hundreds of colored lanterns will be scattered through the grounds for the grandest moonlight picnic ever.

Hedy Lamarr is arrested for concealing $21 in personal care items. Lamarr rose to fame for appearing nude in the 1933 Czech film "Ecstasy."

Hundreds attend a Minden casino meeting on a proposed casino, bowling alley and RV park at the entrance to town.
